Box 353 23 Standish Road 01/20/07 : This fire took place in Wellesley Ma. on a real cold January 20, 2007 at Box 2-353 23 Standish Road. basement fire in a 1.5 story wood-frame occupied structure. Mutual aid from Weston (Engine-1) and Newton (Eng-7/Lad-2/C-2) on the 2nd alarm. I think this could have been Boston Sparks Club first duty for their A-10 Canteen Truck (Former Cambridge FD Dive Truck).

Fall Victim Newton Ma. Rear Of 143 Stanton Ave 2-19-07 : On February 18, 2007 Newton Fire Dept. had to rescue a young girl that fell down a hill in her back yard, she fell about half way down a 100 foot hill. It took companies about 45 minutes to extricate from the side of the hill. Medflight was requested and the L/Z was at Woodland Country Club on Washington Street across the street from the scene.

Retired Newton Fire Captain Ronald Palkey Funeral 04/07 : Retired Newton Ma. Fire Captain Ronald Palkey's funeral being saluted by the members at Station 2. Captain Ronald Palkey (Ladder-2) was appointed to the dept on 03/20/66 and retired on 05/14/99. He passed away on 04/09/07. He was a 33 year veteran of the Newton Fire Dept. and also an instructor at the Massachusett's Firefighter Academy.

2nd Alarm Manhattan NY. Box 577 21 East 17th St at Broadway 6-19-07 : While buffing FDNY on 6-19-07 during a severe thunderstorm I caught this 2nd alarm fire at box 577 21 East 17th Street near Broadway. When the box was struck, I was 4 blocks north of the fire on Broadway. 1st due with the companies and had heavy fire showing from several windows of a 7 story brick structure. I grabbed a couple of photos and headed for cover due to the storm.

2nd Alarm Newton Ma. Box 55 2271 Washington Street 9-2-07 : On Sunday night September 2, 2007 Newton Box 55 struck for an apartment building fire at 2271 Washington Street. Was 1st due with Engine-2 and Ladder-1 to find heavy fire on the outside of the structure extending to the attic and roof area. Companies quickly stretched (2) 1 3/4 lines and the truck company started a search while several police officers assisted with removing occupants from the building. Upon arrival of C-2, the 2nd alarm was transmitted. The exterior fire was quickly knocked down with some extension into the structure. 3 story wood-frame 40x120 apartment building. All occupants were rescued unharmed and 2 firefighters received minor injuries. This was Tower/Ladder-2's 1st fire with the new truck.

Mva/Rollover Newton Ma. Route 90 Eastbound At Commonwealth Ave 09/09/07 : On September 9, 2007 Newton Ma. Fire Engine-2 and Ladder-1 responded to this box truck rollover on the Mass Pike Eastbound just before Commonwealth Ave (Route 30) bridge. The driver was extricated by witness's and was pulled over to the side of the road. Cataldo EMS also stopped to assist before the Fire Dept and Newton EMS arrived. The driver was transported to Beth Isreal Hospital in Boston with injuries.

MVA Newton/Weston Ma. Route 128 South At Rt 90 (Mass Pike Exit) Dec-07 : This mva with entrapment was on Route 128 south bound at Exit 25 (Mass Pike). Both Newton and Weston Fire Dept's worked the scene. It took about 20 minutes to extricate the driver with the jaws. The 10-45 was transported to a Boston trauma center by ground.
